Omaha Burke enters the OSI Game of the Week as the seventh seed in the first round of playoffs. It's been over three years since Burke has faced Millard North, but the bulldogs don't see that as a disadvantage.
"They're a tough team to prepare for whether you play them every year or twice a year or once every three years," Burke head football coach Paul Limongi said. "They do some really great things on offense and there defense is very active and physical, so it's going to be an exciting match up no matter what," Limongi said.
Despite this now being the post season the Bulldogs are going to focus on what helped them get to playoffs in the first place.
"We really just focus on our fundamentals, we gotta do everything right and just flying around every play," Burke's Chris Hickman said. "We got four to six seconds every play just gotta work hard every play and not let your teammates down," Hickman said.
Millard North ended the regular season with a 5-4 record. The Mustangs are hoping that finishing with three straight wins will give them the momentum they need heading into the playoffs.
"Our boys have really started to pick it up and stuff, it was a rough start to the season but we're a completely different team now," Millard North's Brandon Eastlack said. "I wish we could of got some momentum going earlier this season but ya know if it's here now it's here," Eastlack said.
