OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The final numbers are in for yesterday's fundraiser for the Heartland Hope Mission you helped us raise more than $29,000 for this non-profit.

To give you an idea of just how much of an impact this makes, a $31 donation can help feed one person for an entire month.

The food bank has seen a 40 % increase in food needs, but even the smallest of donations can help.

"This money is really going to come in handy, because we are serving so many more people," said Chelse Sailfou with the mission. "When COVID-19 hit, our numbers nearly quadrupled. We anticipate serving 40% more people through the end of this at least."

They also need of food, hygiene products and school supplies.

The KMTV family partnered with Heartland Hope for their phone bank fundraiser.
