We’re a little over halfway through July and boy, it’s been a hot one! Of course, that’s to be expected, but we’re well on our way to reaching and surpassing our average number of 90-degree days for the year in Omaha.

On average, Omaha reaches afternoon highs in the 90s 33 times during the year. In 2020, we’ve hit the 90s already 29 times! We reached 90 degrees 17 times during June, and have reached it 12 times (so far) in July, but we’ve got some more 90s coming up in the next week.

As for the rest of the month, it looks like we’ll be staying on the hotter side. The Climate Prediction Center shows much of the United States experiencing warmer than average temperatures through the rest of July.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’re going to catch up on our rain deficit. The CPC shows an equal chance for drier or wetter than average conditions here with wetter than normal conditions to our north and southeast and drier than average conditions to our south.
