Wet Weather Pattern Continues

Posted
and last updated

After the rollercoaster weather pattern this week that included a high in the 90s on Wednesday, high temperatures will mostly remain below normal in the 50s and 60s through next weekend.

From Sunday through Tuesday, we will experience nearly continuous rain. Some of the rain will be heavy at times, but we will also see periods of lighter showers.

With some parts of our region expecting significant totals the next few days, this is a good time to remind you that water rises rapidly – sometimes in 45 minutes or less – when flash flooding conditions exist.

If you begin to experience flooding, go to higher ground immediately and evacuate if instructed. If you are driving and encounter flooded roads, turn around. Finally, never let children play near flood waters. Even cars can be swept away by fast-moving currents.

The average October rainfall in Omaha is 2.15”, but the coming rain will push us above normal for rain totals for the third month in a row.
