August was one of the wettest on record, and the unsettled weather pattern stuck around through the first part of September.
There has only been one day since we flipped the calendar that we haven’t recorded any rain at Eppley Airfield, and that was Thursday, Sept 6.
The rain does not take a break until next week because remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon and a couple of weak disturbances will continue to push more rounds of rain into Nebraska and Iowa through Saturday.
Gordon has lost a lot of its punch, so it won’t be heavy, widespread rain like it dumped along the Gulf Coast. The rain is expected to be very light, and some locations will not have any rain. Once the system pulls away and moves east starting Saturday, the rain chances will taper off. It appears that after days and days of rain, we will see little to no rain through next weekend.
