Cooler days ahead

Cooler and wetter going into mid-June

While most of the beginning of June was above our average temperature, some cooler air is here now and will be sticking around for a bit.

Most of our afternoon highs in Omaha this week will be below or at our average as a series of cold fronts impact the area in the first half of the week. And even though we warm into the low 80s for the second half, the cooler than average temperature trend looks to continue.

According to the Climate Prediction Center’s outlook, much of the Plains and Midwest likely stay cooler during the middle of June. So, if you weren’t a fan of those near-90-degree days, you’re in luck!

Along with some cooler temps, our rainy pattern looks to continue, too, with rain and thunderstorms in both the next week and likely in 8 to 14 days after. While some parts of the metro have seen more, Omaha has officially received 0.84” of rain as measured out at Eppley.
