Record Snow Season for Omaha

and last updated

The 2018-2019 snow season is one that will go down in the record books as one of the snowiest ever.

Officially, Omaha recorded 52.7”, which takes this season to the seventh snowiest on record. Lincoln collected 55.5" and Valley recorded 51.2". The average snowfall for Omaha and Lincoln is around 26 inches. In Valley, it’s more than 34 inches.

This snow season started a little earlier than normal with measurable snow falling in mid-October, and it just kept piling up through the winter months and into March. The snowiest month in Omaha was in February with 27", which was a record!

The average last date of snow in Omaha is May 9. If the 8 to 14 day outlook, which shows above-normal temperatures and precipitation, holds true, then it appears all of the moisture on the way will be in the form of rain and not snow. It appears we can now officially say we are done with winter!
