Nebraska ranked ninth-worst state for veterans

WalletHub released its 2017 rankings for the best and worst states for military retireesand Nebraska was ranked 43rd overall. 

WalletHub analysts looked at 22 key indicators of retirement-friendliness for veterans in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. 

A more in-depth breakdown by the site revealed Nebraska ranked 36th in economic environment for veterans, 22nd in quality of life and 44th in health care. 

However, the there were some positives for the state of Nebraska. It ranked second in affordable housing for veterans and was also above the national average in percentage of veteran-owned businesses, ranking 18th.
