OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Fire crews responded to a 2nd alarm fire at Enclave Apartments near 99th and Q streets Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters initially received reports of people possibly trapped inside.
Upon arriving at the scene just before 2:30 p.m., they found smoke and flames coming from the second and third floors of an apartment building.
Crews helped those still inside get of the building safely.
Flames tore through an attic.
The Red Cross is now assisting the 22 people who were displaced.
Omaha Fire Department says two people had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
Firefighters got the blaze under control about an hour later.
It's estimated the fire caused more than $500,000 damage to the building.
The cause remains under investigation.
