OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — This year's American Heart Association Heart Walk in Omaha and Council Bluffs is going virtual.
On Saturday, May 30, teams are invited to take a walk, have a family dance party or just exercise and then share what they're doing using #HeartWalkNE.
You can still donate to the American Heart Association and register to take part.
Since people with cardiovascular conditions have a higher risk for COVID-19 complications, the Heart Association says they are working to fast-track scientific projects to look into the implications on COVID-19 in people with these conditions.
They also say during a time of physical distancing, it's especially important to find ways to stay active both for your physical and emotional health, and this is a way to do that.
