TREYNOR, IA (KMTV) - A big superhero fan, Ethan Hill born with half a heart
"I like Iron Man because he has a special heart like me,” Ethan said.
Ethan got a birthday surprise and a ride in a local hero's cool red fire truck.
Crime fighters usually have partners, so the Pottawattamie County Sheriff and deputies joined in.
Birthday cards were requested along with well wishes. Cards poured in from all over the country, along with tons of gifts.
Cars lined up waiting for the superhero return. They had signs, balloons and plenty of positive wishes for Ethan as he celebrated his 7th birthday, a birthday his mom wasn't sure would ever happen.
“After his last surgery, I didn't think he would make It,” said Ethan’s mom Amy.
Upon their return, Ethan got to wave as a parade of cars drove by, wishing him a very happy birthday.
It’s a celebration his family says was more than they could have ever wished for.
“Thank you everybody for all the presets, this is the best birthday ever,” Ethan said.
Ethan's mom is hoping that by next year Ethan will be able to have his first ever birthday party with his friends all in the same room.
