BELLEVUE, Neb. (KMTV) — A third metro-area Disaster Resource Center (DRC) will open on Thursday, helping those in need who were affected by floods.

The newest DRC will be located inside the former JC Penny store in Bellevue at Southroads Mall. This location focuses on serving the Sarpy County and Cass County communities.

Two other DRCs are located in the area -- one in Omaha near 84th and Center, and another in Council Bluffs at 715 N. 16th St.

Each location will provide people in need with flood-relief items, allowing residents in all areas of the metro better access to aid.

The Sarpy-Cass DRC serves as a distribution center where people in need can pick up items to help in their recovery. Kroc Center Omaha officers and staff spearheaded the operation to set up the newest location.

Bellevue Christian Center will partner with The Salvation Army starting Thursday. The Center is relocating its ongoing disaster-relief operation and inventory to the Sarpy-Cass DRC.

The hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The location will remain open until further notice.
