CASS COUNTY, Neb. (KMTV) — The Cass County Sheriff's office says a Bellevue man went by medical helicopter to UNMC following a motorcycle crash around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The investigation determined Patrick A. O'Connor, 67, of Bellevue was riding a Harley Davidson westbound on Bay Road and failed to make a turn causing his motorcycle to go off the road and into a ditch, according to a Cass County Sheriff's office news release. O'Connor went airborne over Davie Jones Dr. before hitting the ground west of the road.

O'Connor was taken to UNMC by Life Net. No word on his injuries.

The sheriff's office says O'Connor was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but officials believe it was knocked off during the crash.

Cass County deputies and Plattsmouth Fire and Rescue responded to the crash.
