OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Officials say a 2-year-old girl has died after being hit by an SUV near 18th & Oak St around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
According to police, the girl was playing in her front yard when her father pulled into the driveway--likely not seeing the girl--and struck her with the vehicle.
The girl's mother allegedly yelled out to try to stop him but it was too late.
The child was taken to Nebraska Medical Center in extremely critical condition.
Officials are investigating the incident.
