Council Bluffs Police investigating robbery

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA. (KMTV) — Council Bluffs Police are investigating a robbery that happened Wednesday evening involving a 61-year-old woman whose purse was stolen by a male suspect.

Officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Ave. F around 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday after reports of a robbery.

According to Council Bluffs PD, the victim was just arriving home when an unknown male came up behind her and grabbed her purse with such force that the victim fell and hit her head on pavement. The suspect fled with the purse and the victim was transported to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male with medium build between 16 and 21 years of age. He was wearing blue jeans, no shirt, flat top hair and was approximately 6 feet tall.
