SIDNEY, Iowa. (KMTV) — Although the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Sidney, IA closes Saturday, help will still be available for those in the area.
DRC's are one-stop information centers providing those who have sustained damage from severe storms and flooding with recovery help.
After the Sidney DRC closes, residents can still get help in the following ways:
• Go online to www.disasterassistance.gov.
• Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. Phone lines are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time, seven days a week until further notice. Multilingual operators are on duty.
• Use FEMA’s disaster app on your smartphone. If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, you can go to www.fema.gov/mobile-app.
The DRC is located at the Fremont County Emergency Management Office at 2014 290th Ave. It's open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 30-31.
The Sidney DRC closes at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1.
After the Sidney closure, Fremont County survivors can also find help at the DRC in Mills County, located at 111 Lacey St. in Glenwood.
