Drugs, fake credit cards and IDs found in Stanton County traffic stop

STANTON COUNTY, Neb. (KMTV) — Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested a California man after finding multiple controlled substances, fake credit cards and IDs during a traffic stop near Pilger.

A trooper observed a Nissan Rogue speeding on Highway 15 on Sunday at approximately 11:15 a.m. During the traffic stop, the trooper noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Methamphetamine, marijuana, unknown pills, drug paraphernalia, approximately 40 fraudulent credit cards/identification cards and forgery equipment were discovered during a vehicle search.

The passenger of the vehicle, 27-year-old Steve Munoz of Altadena, CA was arrested for identity theft, possession of forged documents, possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana – less than one ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful manufacture of a financial transaction device, possession of a financial transaction forgery device, criminal possession of a financial transaction device, and criminal impersonation.

Munoz was lodged in Madison County Jail. The driver of the vehicle was not involved in the fraudulent activity and was cited for speeding and released.
