OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Facebook is launching something fun for people who are celebrating their birthdays.
The social media giant is about to launch a new feature called Birthday Stories.
It will let people post images, videos or digital cards to friends' Facebook stories on their birthday.
To kick off the new feature, Facebook is traveling around the nation visiting bakeries and giving away cake pops.
Cake Creations Omaha is one local bakery participating. They gave out free cake pops on Friday.
"They asked us to participate in the launching of their new program and we have cake pops for anyone that comes in today," said Tonya Brown-Withers, owner of Cake Creations Omaha.
According to the Facebook spokesman, the new birthday story feature will be controlled by the birthday person so they can choose what content they want and don't want shared.
