LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — Inmate Douglas Peverill, 88, died Monday morning at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). He was serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and manslaughter out of Sarpy County, which began in 1986.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) says Peverill died at 11:25 a.m. at TSCI.
The cause of death has not yet been determined; however, Peverill was being treated for a medical condition.
Whenever an inmate dies in the custody of NDCS, a grand jury conducts an investigation.
