GRETNA, Neb. (KMTV) — Jesse Knight, 37, struck the rear of a mini-van with his dump truck earlier last month, killing two children.
Monday, Knight was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide and reckless driving.
On Aug. 7, Knight hit the back of a Toyota minivan stopped at a red light on Hwy 370. Kristy Young, 37, was driving the minivan and had four young children in the vehicle with her at the time of the crash.
Sixteen-year-old Abby Young and 10-year-old Stephen Young died. Both were students at Millard Public Schools.
Four vehicles were involved in the accident which sent several to the hospital.
Both counts of vehicular homicide are considered felony charges. Knight is lodged in the Sarpy County Jail.
Bond for Knight is set at at $10,000.
