DES MOINES, Iowa. (KCCI) — Dozens of protesters showed up at Representative Cindy Axne's office in the East Village of Des Moines.
They demanded she work to close the detention centers on U.S. Southern border.
This was part of a larger group of protests organized by the advocacy group MoveOn.
In Des Moines, they started outside and then went into her office. However, Representative Axne was not there.
Immigrants still shared their stories and the protesters delivered their messages for the representative.
