OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Early Sunday morning, officers responded to 206th & W. Maple after reports of a crash.

A 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle was going westbound on W. Maple while a 2016 Chrysler mini van was southbound on 206th, turning left onto eastbound W. Maple.

The van struck the motorcycle, according to Omaha Police, knocking the rider to the ground.

The motorcyclist, identified as 34-year-old Carl J. Camenzind, was transported to Bergan Mercy and pronounced dead at the hospital. He was wearing a DOT-approved helmet.

The driver of the Chrysler, 43-year-old Jennifer L. Severson, was uninjured.

Alcohol use and excessive speed don't appear to be factors in the crash.
