OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A 36-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash Friday night near 72nd and Wirt St.

Officers responded to the scene at 9:45 p.m. where investigation revealed a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle was speeding while traveling southbound on 72nd.

A 2006 Chevy Impala turned out from Wirt St going eastbound onto 72nd St and was struck on the driver's side by the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, identified as 36-year-old Fare Napo, was transported by medics to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition. Napo was wearing a DOT-approved helmet, according to police.

Napo died shortly after arrival at the hospital.

The driver of the Chevy was identified as Terrence Prince, 38.

Because of investigation, 72nd St was closed between Maple and Bedford until 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
