LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — Funds are now available for the transportation needs of elderly and disabled individuals in areas with insufficient transportation.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) announced eligible applicants for the funds include private non-profit organizations incorporated within Nebraska and governmental entities. Those with the government must certify that there are no non-profit agencies in the service area readily available to provide transportation.
Applications will be accepted from qualified entities in small urban and rural areas of Nebraska.
The Federal Transit Administration's Section 5310 program is a Federal Capital Grant program requiring a local match and is managed by NDOT.
The program provides assistance for the purchase of vehicles, certain technologies and purchase of service.
