DUNBAR, Neb. (KMTV) — Almost two dozen students sustained minor injuries after a crash involving a school bus and Ford Fusion Wednesday afternoon near Dunbar, NE.

Around 2:45 p.m., a Ford Fusion going westbound attempted to turn from Hwy 2 onto southbound Hwy 67 when it stuck a Nebraska City Public Schools bus heading eastbound on Hwy 2.

There were 38 fourth-graders and four adults on the bus.

Two additional buses were traveling with the first bus, Nebraska State Patrol say. Those buses picked up the occupants of the crashed bus and transported all 42 people to St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City.

Twenty-one children were triaged as injured. All injuries are considered minor.

Seventeen of the children and all adults were uninjured.

The Ford Fusion driver, an adult female, was taken to a hospital in Syracuse with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
