Police searching for suspects in overnight shooting

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Police are looking for two suspects believed to be involved in an overnight shooting.

At 3:25 am, officers responded to 2605 1/2 S 30th St. for a shooting. Upon arrival officers contacted a victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound and another victim who was suffering from apparent cutting injuries.

The victims were transported to University of Nebraska Medical Center where it was determined that both victims had non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims stated that two male suspects kicked in their residence door and demanded money. One man shot 48-year-old Donald Werth. When Werth was shot, 47-year-old Bryan Evans jumped through a closed window to escape, receiving cutting injuries. Both suspects fled on foot.
