TABOR, Iowa. (KMTV) — Fremont County Deputies and the Tabor Police Department are searching for a man who attempted to possibly abduct a child Friday evening near the Tabor Library. The male previously pictured in surveillance photos has been cleared as a suspect in the case.

At approximately 7:40 p.m., deputies were contacted by several juveniles about a suspicious male who approached them.

Witnesses say the man approached one juvenile, saying he knew their father and was to drive them home. The juveniles left the area and contacted authorities.

A male previously named as a suspect has been cleared after being interviewed by law enforcement and with the aid of a personal tracking app. He was able to give a detailed location and information to eliminate himself as a suspect, the Fremont County Sheriff's Office says.

There is currently no information regarding a possible suspect or suspect vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fremont County Sheriff's Office at 712-374-2424.

KMTV will provide an update once more information is released.
