OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Two people were killed and three others injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning near 37th & Dewey Ave.
Police responded to the area at 3:13 a.m., with investigation revealing a 2008 Saturn Aura was traveling eastbound on Dewey Ave, approaching 37th St, when the vehicle left the roadway to the south.
Authorities say the vehicle collided with a tree then hit a retaining wall.
Four of the five occupants were ejected from the vehicle, with two ejected pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Three people were transported to Nebraska Medicine.
Police say alcohol, speed and lack of seat belts are factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Justin Estrada, 18, was one of two people killed in the crash. The second person killed has not yet been identified.
The driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Angela Alejo, suffered a life-threatening head injury.
A 20-year-old woman from Council Bluffs sustained a serious arm injury and a 19-year-old Omaha male suffered a life-threatening head injury.
