BELLEVUE, Neb. (KMTV) — A Bellevue Medical Center doctor has received an initial positive result for coronavirus, according to a spokesperson for Nebraska Medicine.

This case is believed to be related to a recent visit to Florida and is one of the Douglas County cases that was announced on Tuesday.

After working at the hospital this weekend, the doctor developed symptoms and was immediately tested. They are now at home in isolation and experiencing mild symptoms, Nebraska Medicine says.

All individuals, including nine patients who came in contact with the doctor, have been contacted and advised on precautions they should take.

The test result must be verified by the CDC in order for it to be considered official; however, they are taking precautions as if it is positive.

There are currently 23 coronavirus cases in Nebraska.
