Central Dist. Health Dept reporting more cases than Douglas Co.

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — For the first time since coronavirus cases started being documented in Nebraska, another health department in the state is reporting more cases than Douglas County.

There are now 297 total confirmed coronavirus cases being reported by the Central District Health Department (CDHD) which serves Hall, Hamilton and Merrick counties. In comparison, the Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) is reporting 263 cases.

An additional death has also been reported by the CDHD, bringing the total there to five. The latest death was that of a man in his 80s in Hall County.

  • Hamilton: 15
  • Hall 278

40 cases have been confirmed among staff and residents at the following long-term care facilities:

  • Tabitha
  • Wedgewood
  • Tiffany Square
  • Heritage
  • Edgewood
  • Country House
  • Good Samaritan in Hall County
  • Westfield in Hamilton County
