OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — As coronavirus cases come in throughout our area on Wednesday, KMTV will update this story with the latest details. You can find our full coronavirus coverage here.

NEBRASKA

  • 3,784 positive tests
  • 20,257 negative tests
  • 68 deaths to date

DOUGLAS COUNTY

  • 31 new cases for a total of 536 to date
  • One additional death for a total of 16 to date

LANCASTER COUNTY
On Wednesday, Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) announced 32 new case of COVID-19 had been reported.

  • There are now 193 cases in the community
  • 3,257 tests have been done in the community

ADAMS COUNTY

  • 1 death announced Wednesday

CUSTER COUNTY

  • 1 death announced Wednesday

CENTRAL DISTRICT HEALTH DEPARTMENT

  • The number of positive COVID-19 cases confirmed by laboratory is 1,030 to date
  • 35 deaths to date
  • 9 cases in Merrick County to date
  • 2 additional deaths, 49 cases in Hamilton County to date
  • 8 additional deaths, 972 in Hall County to date

THREE RIVERS PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT

  • 98 cases total in health jurisdiction
  • 15 new cases in Dodge County, total of 66
  • 22 cases in Washington County
  • 10 cases in Saunders County

NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONAL SERVICES

  • Director Frakes announced Wednesday that an additional Nebraska Department of Correctional Services staff member has tested positive for COVID-19
  • Employed at Nebraska State Penitentiary and self-isolating at home
  • Fourth employee at NDCS to test positive since April 4
  • No inmates have tested positive

IOWA
467 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Iowa for a state total of 6,843 positive cases. Additionally, 12 more people have died in relation to the coronavirus, bringing the total number of fatal cases to 148.

The additional 12 deaths were reported in the following counties:

  • Black Hawk County, 1 elderly adult (81+)
  • Dubuque County, 1 older adult (61-80 years)
  • Jasper County, 1 elderly adult (81+)
  • Linn County, 1 middle-age adult (41-60 years), 2 older adults (61-80 years), 1 elderly adult (81+)
  • Marshall County, 1 elderly adult (81+)
  • Muscatine County, 1 elderly adult (81+)
  • Polk County, 1 elderly adult (81+)
  • Pottawattamie County, 1 adult (18-40 years)
  • Washington County, 1 elderly adult (81+)

At this time, 323 people are hospitalized in the state, and 2,428 Iowans have recovered from the virus.There have been an additional 1,047 negative tests for a total of 34,494 negative tests to date. At this time, 1 in 76 Iowans have already been tested.

POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY
5 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Pottawattamie County, along with the community's second death in relation to the coronavirus.

The five new cases are residents of Council Bluffs and include three females and two males. These individuals were tested for COVID-19 between April 24 and April 28. Two individuals are in the 41-60 age range, and three are in the 18-40 age range. Two of them have pre-existing conditions. One of these individuals had contact with an existing COVID-19 case, and four were the result of community spread. Four of these individuals are self-isolating at home, and we are sorry to report that one has died.

An adult male between 18-40 years old has become the second COVID-19 death in Pottawattamie County. He did not have pre-existing medical conditions, nor did he have contact with another COVID-19 case. He was tested on April 24 and passed away on April 28.

The county now has had 36 confirmed cases of the virus. There are 17 people who have recovered, 16 people are self-isolating and one is hospitalized.

  • 21 patients with COVID-19 in Omaha and Council Bluffs
  • 81 patients with COVID-19 outside Omaha and Council Bluffs
  • 135 beds ICU beds in use, though not all are for COVID-19 patients
  • 48 ventilators in use, though not all are for COVID-19 patients
