DOUGLAS COUNTY
- On Thursday, September 24, the Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) reported 147 new cases of COVID-19 that were received by midnight the previous day. This makes 15,566 total cases in Douglas County since the outbreak began in March.
- The Health Department has not received any new death certificates related to the pandemic during the past day. The number of COVID-19-related deaths in the county remains at 191.
- DCHD has confirmed 11,903 county residents have recovered from the illness.
- Over the past 14 days there have been 48 cases of COVID-19 reported in K-12 schools in Douglas County, including 24 staff and 24 students. There are 291 individuals who are being quarantined, including 52 staff and 239 students.
- As of this morning, metro area hospitals had 257 medical and surgical beds available for an 81 percent occupancy rate. There were 109 inpatients diagnosed with COVID-19 and 25 more persons of interest (generally waiting for test results). Sixteen individuals who were confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19 were on ventilators.
