COUNCIL BLUFFS, Ia. (KMTV) — The Pottawattamie County TestIowasite location is moving from the Western Historic Trails Center in Council Bluffs to Southwest Iowa Transit Agency at 3236 Nebraska Ave. in Council Bluffs. The move will begin after testing on Friday, and TestIowa will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, December 7 at the new location.

“TestIowa needed an indoor location to house their staff and supplies throughout the winter months,” said Matt Wyant with Pottawattamie County Public Health. “Thanks to a combined community effort between the City, the County, SWIPCO, and Iowa West, we were able to stand up this new site relatively quickly.”

Southwest Iowa Planning Council (SWIPCO) is providing TestIowa with the facility rent-free. Thanks to funding from the Iowa West Foundation, concrete repairs were made to the building and improvements were made to the parking lot.

“Working to secure and prepare this site is a great example of successful public private partnerships, and we’re grateful for the assistance,” said Matt Wyant.
