OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Soon-to-be college freshmen and high school juniors and seniors use spring break and summer time to visit college campuses.

It's a really big part of making that final decision, but those tours were canceled due to COVID-19.

So Creighton University is offering virtual college tours.

"We would love to be able to host people on our campus; it is hard for people to get a true sense of what make Creighton special without being able to be physically present on our campus," said Sarah Richardson, Asst. Vice Provost of enrollment.

Those campus tours will now be held virtually.

Eighty percent of students come to Creighton from out of state.

"We have had students every year who have chosen to come to Creighton without ever having stepped foot on our campus beforehand," said Richardson. "Now there is just a larger number of students who are in that situation. Our campuses across the country were shut down right at the time for families to travel when they are making those final decisions."

The virtual tours will be led by current students, offering relatable experiences and hopefully adding their very own personal touch.

They have four more virtual open houses scheduled with the next one in June. You can find more information at https://www.facebook.com/ChooseCreighton/
