OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - The Douglas County Courthouse will close for at least the next couple weeks, our media partners at the Omaha World-Herald reported on Friday.
The paper says there will be limited access to the general public. Residents with with urgent needs, such as orders of protection, or other emergency legal action will still be escorted in.
The Omaha Douglas Civic Center will also be closed from April 6 through April 19. It's possible the closures will be extended past the next couple weeks.
City offices remain open and departments that provide public services will continue to provide those services. Mayor Jean Stothert's office will also remain open and staffed.
Some mandatory public meetings scheduled in the Civic Center will continue as planned. While the public may attend those meetings, attendees will be screened and distancing guidelines will be maintained,
