Douglas County surpasses 39,000 total coronavirus cases

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Douglas County announced 282 coronavirus cases on Saturday, pushing the county to 39,107 total cases since the pandemic began in March.

The county also reported two more coronavirus deaths on Saturday, a man and a woman over the age of 80. The number of deaths in the county connected to the pandemic stands at 320.

According to the county, 19,832 residents have recovered from the coronavirus.

As of Friday, medical and surgical beds were at 73% occupancy with 400 beds available and adult ICU beds are occupied at a 71% rate with 96 beds available.

There were 403 people hospitalized who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, with 106 of them receiving adult ICU level care. There are also 31 more persons of interest (generally waiting for
test results).

Forty-seven individuals who were confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19 were on ventilators.

LANCASTER COUNTY

Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department announced that 216 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Lancaster County today, bringing the community total to 16,341. The number of deaths in the community remains at 73.
