Eight new COVID-19 cases reported in Douglas County

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Eight additional COVID-19 cases were reported by the Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) on Tuesday.

The new cases involve two women in their 20's and two in their 60's, along with a man in his 20's, a man in his 50's and two men over 70.

DCHD said four of the cases are linked to known contacts in the county and two cases are considered community spread.

The health department's Epidemiology Team continues to investigate the other cases.

DCHD urges people to take precautions across the community to avoid a COVID-19 infection.

The health department's information line remains open from 8:30 to 4:00 p.m. at 402-444-3400. Nebraska DHHS has an information line available from 8 a.m.to 8 p.m. daily at 402-552-6645. Any calls after those hours are handled by the United Way's 2-1-1 hotline.
