Lancaster Co. Health Dept. reports ninth coronavirus case

LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird says the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCD) is reporting a new coronavirus case, bringing the total to nine for the region.

The Health Department says a man in his 30s has a laboratory-confirmed case of coronavirus which they are continuing to investigate.

LLCD says the newest case is travel related. The man traveled to Dallas March 11 through March 16 and became symptomatic on March 21. At that time, he self-isolated and was tested for coronavirus on March 26.

LLCD says his close contacts are in quarantine at their homes.

At this time, the county has received reports of 396 negative tests and says 35 tests are pending at the Nebraska Public Health Lab. 95 people are currently being monitored for coronavirus symptoms.
