ELKHORN, Neb. (KMTV) - Life Care Center of Elkhorn announced Tuesday that there have been 12 positive coronavirus cases at the nursing home.

Eight residents and four employees are positive for COVID-19.

The eight residents are isolated and receiving care at the facility and the employees are recovering at home.

The executive director of the facility, Michelle Yosick, said in a press release that the staff is well-trained and putting in heroic efforts. She said the facility is working with the county health department to test all employees.

This facility is owned by Life Care Centers of America, which also owns the facility in Kirkland, Washington, where the first major outbreak of COVID-19 at a long-term care facility occurred back in early March.
