LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — With many Husker fans finalizing game day plans, Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird took time on Friday to remind everyone to take safety precautions while enjoying the game.

She said, “There is still going to be joy with Husker football this season. I think we can all feel grateful that there is a season. It won't look like past seasons, except for maybe the 1918 seasons. So we're asking people if they want to have the least level of risk, to stay home and watch the game with members of their household.”

In Omaha, the Douglas County Health Department is reminding fans that if you do choose to go out for the game, try to maintain social distancing and follow the state’s directed health measures for the business you visit.
