Lincoln reports two new cases, bringing total to 59

LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — On Wednesday, Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird's office shared a statement saying the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) confirmed two new cases of coronavirus, bringing the area's total to 59.

LLCHD believes both of the newly-confirmed cases were acquired in the community. The cases involve a man in his 60s and another in his 20s. The new cases brings the total acquired in the community to 41.

Both men are self-isolating and close contacts are self-quarantining.

Other facts shared by the LLCHD:

  • Monitoring 63 individuals
  • One death to date in the area
  • 1845 negative tests
  • 12 tests pending at the Nebraska Public Health Lab
