DES MOINES, Iowa (KMTV) — On Thursday, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and other officials held a coronavirus briefing. Yesterday, the governor signed a new proclamation which will allow more businesses to open.

The governor announced 655 new cases and 12 additional deaths. She also talked about her meeting with President Donald Trump, saying he was so impressed with Iowa State Public Health Medical Director and Epidemiologist Dr. Caitlin Pedati, that he asked her to be part of the country's coronavirus task force.

Reynolds said, "Iowans can be proud of what we’re doing."
