OMAHA, Neb — Emma Hutchinson is Nebraska's first confirmed COVID-19 patient. She first sought care with Methodist Hospital and has since recovered. The hospital system shared a photo of Emma on Instagram today saying that her diagnosis represented the moment it entered the fight against coronavirus.

At the time doctors said Emma was "very seriously ill" and she was eventually transported to the biocontainment unit at UNMC.
