Mills County, Iowa announces its first coronavirus case

MILLS COUNTY, Iowa (KMTV) - Mills County Public Health announced the first case of coronavirus in the county on Friday.

The person is a man between the ages of 41-60 and he is currently self-isolating.

Mills County Public Health is conducting a contact tracing investigation to identify close contacts who should monitor their health symptoms and self-isolate.

Mills County officials urge residents to continue to practice social distancing, wash their hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow/upper arm and stay at home when ill.

Iowa has seen 699 cases of coronavirus statewide.
