More COVID-19 cases and deaths confirmed in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa. (KMTV) — The Iowa Department of Public Health announced 189 more COVID-19 cases and six additional deaths on Tuesday.

Included in the new case total are 86 Tyson Plant employees.

The health department said there's been a total of 17,467 negative COVID-19 tests done in Iowa to date.

Additionally, six deaths were reported on Tuesday involving the following:

  • Polk County, 1 adult (18-40)
  • Pottawattamie County, 1 older adult (61-80)
  • Linn County, 1 older adult (61-80), 1 middle-age adult (41-60)
  • Scott County, 1 elderly adult (81+)
  • Tama County, 1 elderly adult (81+)
