Of the over 15,000 people in New Jersey who have recovered from coronavirus, perhaps none has a story quite like Sylvia Goldscholl.
Goldscholl is 108 years old, having lived through the Spanish Flu, the last pandemic to hit America back in the 1910s. She tested positive for COVID-19 in April but has since beaten it. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy celebrated Goldscholl during his press conference on Thursday.
"A tremendous life, a tremendous spirit, and a tremendous show of strength," the governor said on Twitter . "So, to you, Sylvia, we send you all our best for many more years to come."
As of Thursday, 15,642 people in New Jersey have recovered from the coronavirus.
