OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — There are concerns about large gatherings in local parks and now authorities are stepping in.

Omaha Police put up barricades Sunday and had officers at Levi Carter Park.

Officer Mike Bossman tweeted that access to the park is restricted for the rest of Sunday, adding to not drive around barricades or a citation could be issued.

Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert said some are trying to organize parties in parks, saying that if it didn't stop, the city would take action.

The mayor already ordered youth soccer, baseball, and softball fields closed because too many people were gathering there.
