OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — While you won't get to see a ballgame at Werner Park this Saturday, you will get to enjoy a community-wide fireworks display.

The Omaha Storm Chasers hope you come out of the house but stay in your car and enjoy the show.

"This is our 20th year of working with J&M Displays," said Martie Cordaro, president of the Storm Chasers. "They are tripling the amount of fireworks and size of the fireworks. Normally we shoot two and three inch shells for our normal Friday night shows. In this case, we are shooting up to five and six inch shells that they can go higher into the air, and more people, up and down, and more families up and down 370, Giles, Harrison and even Q Street will be able to see the fireworks from a distance."

There are some safety protocols you have to follow.

"One family per car, we're not carpooling. If trucks do come on site, you will have to stay in your truck cab...you can't get in your truck bed. No tailgating, there's no getting out and walking around. We have no restrooms, we have no concessions...we have no merchandise. People are missing sports, missing their baseball, this gives people an opportunity to stay engaged at the ball park."

The parking lot can hold anywhere from 600 to 800 cars. You keep the windows rolled up and tune your radio to 104. 5 The Star and enjoy the musical tribute that goes along with the fireworks display.

You will park in the North lots F-3 to F-5. The event is free and the parking lot opens at 8pm on Saturday night, with a 10-12 minute fireworks show to start around 8:30 p.m.
