Sarpy/Cass Health Department announces three more coronavirus cases

PAPILLION, Neb. (KMTV) - The Sarpy/Cass Health Department announced three new cases of coronavirus on Friday, bringing the number of cases in its jurisdiction to 13.

All three new cases are Sarpy County residents. Of the three cases, one is a close contact of a confirmed case, one was travel related and the other was community acquired. The age ranges for these individuals is 20s – 40s.

All identified close contacts have been identified and will self-quarantine and are following public health recommendations for monitoring for fever and respiratory symptoms.

The Sarpy/Cass Health Department also announced details of a contact investigation into a case announced on Thursday. The individual was a temporary resident at a Sarpy County long-term care facility at the time of diagnosis. The person has since been transported to a local hospital for care associated with a pre-existing condition.

There have been 11 coronavirus cases in Sarpy County and two in Cass County. There have been 89 cases statewide.
