OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Scooter's Coffee helped out those on frontlines of this pandemic with a boost of caffeine Thursday morning.

Scooter's Coffee donated a total of 29,000 cans of cold brew coffee to hospitals across the state. It's an effort to make sure our health care workers are taken care of and feel appreciated.

Early Thursday morning, 300 cans were dropped off at the UNMC COVID-19 tent at 42nd and Dewey Avenue, but that wasn't even the largest donation.

On Thursday afternoon, Scooter's gave 16,000 cans to doctors and nurses at CHI hospitals.

“I think it's kind of overwhelming how supportive the community has been during this time,” said Suzanne Watson of UNMC/Nebraska Medicine. "It's been heartwarming, and staff has been incredibly grateful for the support they've received from the community.”

If you would like to donate to health care workers, remember: All donations need to be sealed, open containers, even for meals, are not allowed for safety reasons.
